From my limited experience I would not recommend oil-pulling as I almost screamed out when eating a small piece of orange and cold water. Our conversation stunned me: it turns out that IPL, the early laser treatment I had undergone a decade prior, wasn’t a laser at all. Back in the wild-west days of laser hair removal, IPL (which stands for Intense Pulsed Light) was popular, but mostly because it was one of the only options. While IPL uses multiple wavelengths, lasers use a single-wavelength for your individual skin tone, making them more concentrated, powerful, and precise. And because IPL only targets active follicles, dormant follicles eventually become active, equaling regrowth. In essence, I was punished for being an early adaptor and should have waited a few years for better lasers to hit the market.

Our ear may still look a little fake. This is less of a problem with most other body parts, because an ear has a lot of diverse shadowing going on. While fixing our saturation and color, we also messed with the natural shadows. You can use the burn tool, as can be seen in the screenshot above, to introduce some new shadows. Don’t try to be an artist. Simply swipe it over the ear, and adjust the exposure if necessary. The burn tool will add shadow, but will mostly leave the rest of your colors alone.
